In general, I will only charge hourly for the service I am completing. This time excludes email exchanges, our free 30-minute consultation, or subsequent meetings unless I am providing developmental editing or writing coaching support, which are more discursive by nature. If you are in need of my services but struggling financially at this time, please let me know so we can discuss what I can do for you that is within your budget. I offer a sliding scale for self-identified underfunded writers, and in most cases we have been able to find a compromise. Rates may be determined on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, I have extensive experience working with ESL writers and new writers. I have worked with authors whose first languages are Spanish, Catalan, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, Shona, Somali, and Arabic. While I am not fluent in these languages, I am also knowledgeable about Spanish, Japanese, and Mandarin Chinese. I am always sensitive to the unique worldviews of ESL writers, and to the doubts of new writers, when offering my advice.

Depending on the length and complexity of your project, I can usually get it done within a month or less. This may fluctuate depending on what other projects I already have on my plate.
